Professional Support Services
The Professional Support Services consist of Psychology, Psychiatry, and Pharmacy services.
Psychology and Psychiatry Services
The Professional Support Services Program provides specialized psychiatric and psychological services to support consumers across all GBHWC programs and services. The program offers psychiatric evaluations, psychological assessments, diagnosis, medication management, therapy, crisis intervention, and consultation services to support comprehensive behavioral health treatment.
Professional staff collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans and ensure consumers receive the appropriate level of care. Services include individual, family, couples, and group therapy, psychiatric consultation, clinical oversight, and ongoing support for crisis stabilization, residential, and outpatient programs.
The program utilizes evidence-based and culturally responsive practices to promote recovery, improve outcomes, and support the overall well-being of the individuals served. The program also oversees the Guam Psychology Internship Program to support workforce development and clinical training.
Pharmacy Program
The Pharmacy manages the storage, preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications for inpatient and outpatient services. The program maintains adequate medication and supply inventories, ensures compliance with pharmacy and controlled substance regulations, and supports safe and effective medication management. It also utilizes pharmacy management systems to improve operational efficiency, inventory control, and billing accuracy, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery and quality patient care.
