Description: They say “It takes a village to raise a child.” Through a dedicated partnership of diverse youth, its parents, government agencies, private sector, and nonprofit agencies, Thrive Coalition is committed to empowering Dededo. Funded by the Drug Free Communities Grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Thrive supports and mobilizes the village community to prevent youth from being exposed to, or using alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana. This workshop takes you through the journey of establishing a grassroots, community-based coalition that addresses the village’s unique risk factors and local conditions surrounding youth substance use prevention. There are many ways to view the world.
